Satoshi's 1.1M BTC Locked Across 22,000 Addresses for 16 Years, Onchain Data Confirms

BTC-0.78%
According to Arkham Intelligence and onchain researchers, approximately 1.1 million BTC attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto remains dormant across roughly 22,000 wallet addresses, representing about 5.47% of Bitcoin's total 21 million supply cap. No outbound transaction has been recorded from the cluster for over 16 years, with Satoshi's last known transfer—32.51 BTC to developer Mike Hearn—occurring approximately 16 years ago. The holdings were identified through the Patoshi Pattern, a cryptographic forensics method developed by researcher Sergio Demian Lerner that mapped early mining anomalies to a single entity.
