According to AP News, Gabriel Perez, a White House teleprompter operator, was fired on July 29 for allegedly using nonpublic information to place bets on Kalshi, a prediction market, regarding Trump's speeches. Perez reportedly profited more than $100,000 from trades tied to major addresses, including this year's State of the Union.

Kalshi's monitoring team flagged and investigated the transactions, which have been referred to the CFTC for further review.
