WMO: 86% Chance of Record-High Temperature in Next Five Years

According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on May 28, there is an 86% probability that between 2026 and 2030, one year will record temperatures exceeding 2024's record high, becoming the hottest year on record. The WMO noted that 2024 currently holds the record as the hottest year on record, with global temperatures 1.55 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
