ZachXBT: UK Sanctions on HTX Constitute Over-Enforcement, Intensify On-Chain Address Pollution

HTX-1.62%
According to chain analyst ZachXBT, recently posted via Odaily, the UK's decision to sanction crypto exchange HTX represents over-enforcement. ZachXBT argued that unlike previously sanctioned entities such as Huione, Blender, and Hydra, HTX has a large user base of Asian retail traders. The inclusion of HTX in the sanctions list has led numerous legitimate on-chain addresses to be flagged within the sanctions framework, exacerbating address pollution and rendering risk tags increasingly meaningless. ZachXBT noted that when tracking on-chain cases, he has had to disregard sanctions-related labels. He also criticized UK regulators for failing to detect a $1.25 billion money laundering case.
