Indonesia's Kominfo Bans Polymarket as Illegal Online Gambling in Early 2026

Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) banned Polymarket in early 2026, classifying the blockchain-based prediction platform as illegal online gambling under the country's 1974 Gambling Control Law and 1981 government regulations. Kominfo added Polymarket to its national DNS filtering system and ordered internet service providers to implement the block within 72 hours, with most complying within 48 hours. Users attempting to access the platform from Indonesian IP addresses now see a standard Kominfo block page.
