Perplexity Rolls Out Brain AI Memory System, Boosting Answer Accuracy by 25%

According to Perplexity's announcement on X, the AI search company rolled out Brain, a self-learning memory system designed to improve its Computer agent, on June 18, 2026. The feature is now available in research preview for Perplexity Max and Enterprise Max subscribers.

Brain operates by building a context graph that records tasks performed by Computer, including successful outcomes, failed approaches, and corrections from previous sessions. The system analyzes accumulated data at scheduled intervals and updates its understanding to improve efficiency on similar future tasks. Early internal testing showed measurable gains: answer accuracy increased by 25% on previously encountered tasks, information recall improved by 16%, and task costs were reduced by approximately 13%.
