SpaceX Launches AST SpaceMobile's Three BlueBird Satellites Offering 200 Mbps Speed on Wednesday

SpaceX launched AST SpaceMobile's BlueBird 8, 9, and 10 satellites aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral on Wednesday. The three satellites, AST SpaceMobile's largest commercial communications spacecraft to date, each feature an antenna array spanning approximately 2,400 square feet and are designed to deliver peak data speeds of nearly 200 Mbps directly to standard 4G and 5G smartphones without requiring specialized hardware. This represents nearly double the 98.9 Mbps speed demonstrated by AST SpaceMobile's first-generation satellites. ASTS shares rose more than 6% on the announcement.
