According to Wall Street Journal investigation, Polymarket paid online creators to post deceptive videos showing fake trades and winnings on the prediction market. The WSJ analyzed 1,100 videos and instructional materials provided by Polymarket, finding many were filmed on near-perfect copies of the platform's website featuring non-existent trades.
The company also directed creators not to disclose they had been paid, though they later added "@polymarket partner" to their profiles after journalists inquired. Polymarket said it is "committed to maintaining accurate, fair, and transparent markets" and plans to audit its promotional content.
